Shades Of Green

Just one peak into my wardrobe and you will know at a glance my favourite fashion colour is pink closely followed by aqua or pale blue. However, I feel like this summer I need to mix things up a bit and throw in a few unexpected colours. Today, I am loving this spearmint fresh shade of minty green.

Shades of Green

Get The Look

Shades of green

Although we typically think of decorating in shades of blue for a beach house, green is an also an excellent choice for an accent colour. It is calming and tranquil, perfect for unwinding and helping to create a relaxing decor scheme. It also helps bring the outside in ~ blending the boundaries between inside, the garden and the landscape beyond. Seafoam and watery shades of green like these glass mosaics are particularly well suited to coastal retreats.

Sea Island Sophistication

Sea Island Style - Get The Look

Sea Island Green

This classically styled Sea Island holiday house embraces a vivid coastal palette of sea green and turquoise. I generally prefer a more relaxed, low key feel for a beach house but this coastal retreat inspires me because of the strong use of statement colour. These something about the bold use of colour that screams confidence!

Have some fun on St Patrick's Day!

Green Day

Dress up the house with a splash of green.

St Patrick's dAy

Go green on St Paddy's Day!

Why don't you have some fun on St Patrick's Day
and where a touch of green,
or decorate the house with a some green accessories.
It's also a great excuse to throw a party or bake a cake!
My best friend is Irish so we always celebrate the day
by drinking green beer at the nearest Irish pub!

Summer Fresh

Cool down with these summer treats

Here's few ideas to keep you cool over summer.

Make a large jug of Mojitos to drink with friends on the deck.
Wear something that is light and breezy that lets the air flow through.
This cotton lace kaftan over a pair of bikinis with a wide brimmed hat
will do the trick nicely.
Whip up some homemade lime or kiwi fruit popsicles for the kids.
Make up a healthy salad with green mango and cucumber.
You will feel so fresh you won't even notice how hot it is!

Vintage Glass Inspiration

I love collections of vintage bottles. I love their worn, aged appeal. They make fantastic vases for single blooms or they look great simply displayed on a shelf catching the light and adding character and personality to a vignette. Here both the bottles and their translucent green colouring offers inspiration to these decor schemes.
